Protec power down for maintenance

Power a unit down for maintenance and bring it back — three steps.

PLEASE DO THIS FIRST

⛔️Call BEFORE you arrive: Techs call the job site 30 minutes before arrival.

⛔️Upon arrival: Call the job site to notify them you are on site.

⚠️Call Tech Support before you begin the steps below: (609) 267-2666 Ext 3 to report the unit status update.

Please Follow These Rules!

🟢Screw it down whenever you can. Sandbag only when the surface won't take a screw.

🟢The stainless bolt ships installed — up through the aluminum plate and the dead center of the SWARM.

🟢Work through steps 1 to 3 below, IN ORDER. DON’T SKIP STEPS.

  1. 1Take a photo of the unit do this first

    • Stand at the unit where it is. Do not power it down yet.

First tap Allow Location, then Allow when your phone asks. The photo cannot be sent without the location.

    • Wait for the reply email — it comes in about a minute with the full check and what to do next. Red reply? Fix what it says and upload again.
Can’t use the button? Email the photo instead
    • Take the photo with your phone or tablet’s own camera app — not from inside your email app. Make sure the serial label can be read.
    • Location must be on for the camera (one-time setup):
      • iPhone / iPad: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Camera → While Using the App. When you share the photo, tap Options and keep Location on.
      • Android: Camera app → Settings → turn on Location tags (some phones call it Save location).
    • Send email to unit@protecservices.com with any subject. Several units at once or one photo per unit — either is fine.
  2. 2Fill out the form required

    • Fill it out now, before you start the work. It tells the office you are working on this unit before anything sets off an alert.
    • The first two questions: did you tell the on-site company, and did you tell Tech Support (609-267-2666, Ext 3)? If you haven’t done this, do it now — stop and call them before you touch the unit.
    • Type the first letters of the serial in the WHICH UNIT? box at the top of the form page and most of the form fills in for you.
    • One form per unit.

🔒 Do step 1 first. This button opens when the photo in step 1 is sent.

Photo won’t send? I emailed it instead

Did you email the photo of this unit to unit@protecservices.com?

✅ Photo done — the form is open. One photo, one form: the next unit needs its own photo.

  3. 3How-to instructions 4 steps

    1. 1

Check where it is — it does not change

      • The unit stays in the same sub-location. This is maintenance, not a move.
      • If it is going to end up anywhere else, stop — that is a move, and it has its own page and its own form.
      • Note the sub-location as it stands. Short and specific, under 30 characters. NE corner of lot, 3212 DeKalb Pike.
    2. 2

Open the case and power it down

      • Unlock the case. Combo 5150. Leave it anchored — it does not come off the ground.
      • Hold the power button 3 seconds until it shuts off.
      • Monitoring stops the moment it goes off. Do the work and get it back on the same visit.
    3. 3

Do the work and power it back up

      • Battery, reboot, firmware, work on the box — whatever the job is. The unit stays screwed down or sandbagged exactly as you found it.
      • Hold the power button until it comes on, then close and lock the case.
      • Same spot, same sub-location. If it shifted even a little, put it back where it was.

4Read the light before you leave

Flashing = 50 ms. Blinking = 1 sec. Breathing = 1 sec fade. Omnidots' own list:

    FLASHING50 msBLINKING1 secBREATHING1 sec, faded

Breathing is the slow fade — that is what 7.6 looks like.

Breathing green / white (7.6) is what you want — measuring and on the server. Then you can leave. Anything else, call tech support before you go.
    7.1
Solid purple, white, purple to red
    Starting up.
    7.2
    Breathing orange
    Trying to make connection.
    7.3
    Blinking blue / black
    Auto-leveling. Takes ten seconds.
    7.4

  3. 3Instrucciones paso a paso 4 pasos

    1. 1

    7.1
Morado fijo, blanco, morado a rojo
    Arrancando.
    7.2
    Naranja respirando
    Intentando conectarse.
    7.3
    Azul / negro parpadeando
    Autonivelándose. Tarda diez segundos.
    7.4
    Naranja / blanco respirando
    7.14
    Negro fijo — LED apagado
    7.15
    Rojo / negro respirando
